About the Role
As an Energy Storage Systems Designer (a Torus Designer), you will be instrumental in creating plan sets and coordinating with multiple teams to ensure we deliver customer value quickly and with accuracy. You will manage the system design processes, oversee 50% and 90% designs in collaboration with engineering teams, and utilize tools like Aurora to optimize layouts for renewable energy storage systems. This role requires exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, responsiveness and clear communication as technical information is conveyed across multiple teams.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee and manage system designs using Aurora and other industry-standard tools.
Coordinate with third-party engineering firms to develop and refine 50% and 90% designs.
Ensure all designs meet project specifications, regulatory requirements, and installation feasibility.
Provide support to internal teams by offering design insights and modifications as needed.
Maintain organized documentation of design processes and revisions.

Background Check All candidates are subject to a background check.
Experience Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Math, Science or a related field or a combination of relevant experience and/or education. 2+ years of experience in system design within the renewable energy storage sector.
Location + Travel This is a remote, US-based position with occasional travel required to Utah for team meetings and in-person collaboration.
Schedule Full-Time, Salaried
Compensation $60,000 - 80,000 (Note: We have the flexibility to hire at different levels, which may impact the corresponding pay range.)

Required Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Architecture, Math, Science or a related field or a combination of relevant experience and/or education.
2+ years of experience in system design within the renewable energy storage sector.
Proficiency in design software such as Aurora, Solo, or similar.
Strong project management skills and ability to coordinate with external partners.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality designs.
Preferred Experience
Experience using CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
Familiarity with codes and standards governing renewable energy systems and storage installation, including the National Electric Code.
