We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer / PV Design Engineer to join our team in both full time or part time positions. Our ideal candidate will be highly proficient in PV system design, the National Electrical Code, standard PV industry design practices, and be familiar with relevant Acceptance, Maintenance, and Performance standards (ANSI/NETA, IEC, ASTM, etc.).
Ability for some overnight travel to project sites. Experience with energy storage systems is a plus. Experience with PVsyst and/or SAM energy modeling software is a plus. Experience with PV system data acquisition systems (DAS) including AlsoEnergy, SolarEdge Monitoring, and other systems is a plus. Experience with PV system operational and performance tests a plus.
All candidates must be experienced in PV system design, highly motivated, and able to work independently and as part of a team, and must enjoy working in a small team environment. Responsibilities:
Review electrical designs, related construction documents, equipment specifications, engineering calculations, and other documents for required elements, clarity, accuracy, and owner design requirements;
Review and reporting of PV system operating performance data;
Review and reporting of system performance / capacity tests;
Communicate with clients and attend meetings as required;
Be able to take projects from conceptual drawings through to final completion.
BS degree in Electrical Engineering required; Registered Professional Engineer (PE) or EIT is a plus;
Minimum of 2-4 years’ direct experience in PV system electrical design;
NABCEP certification a plus;
Strong written and verbal communication skills required;
Flexibility in a fast-paced work environment;
Proficiency in MS Office / MS Excel;
Ability to meet deadlines;
Must be able to work both independently and as a team player and be able to work closely with other team members;
Other requirements as needed to meet individual client needs.
