National Solar Technologies, a growing solar installer in suburban Buffalo, NY, is seeking
a motivated and detail-oriented Solar Project Manager to join our team and drive
successful commercial solar installations from design through commissioning.
What You’ll Do
As our Solar Project Manager, you’ll be the central hub connecting sales, engineering,
installation teams, and customers to deliver exceptional solar projects. Your day-to-day
includes:
• Site Assessment & Design: Perform site surveys and use solar design software
(Helioscope preferred) to analyze and optimize system layouts
• Project Planning: Research, evaluate, and select materials and components; create
comprehensive bills of materials for each project
• Stakeholder Coordination: Work seamlessly with local agencies, municipalities,
utilities, subcontractors, vendors, and installation crews to keep projects on track
• Technical Leadership: Review solar energy system drawings and schematics; provide
technical support during design and installation phases
• Customer & Team Communication: Meet with customers, subcontractors, and crews
at job sites; perform commissioning and ensure smooth handoffs
• Process Optimization: Collaborate with engineers, sales staff, and field teams to
optimize costs, productivity, and customer satisfaction while maintaining safety
standards
What We’re Looking For
Required: - High School Diploma or GED - 5+ years of hands-on experience with
technical installation on commercial solar systems - Strong ability to read and
understand solar energy system drawings and schematics - Excellent communication
and coordination skills across multiple stakeholder groups - Detail-oriented with strong
project management capabilities
Preferred: - 2 or 4-year Technical Degree - Experience with Helioscope or similar solar
design software (Aurora, PVsyst) - Background managing commercial solar projects
from 50kW to multi-MW scale - Familiarity with utility interconnection processes and
AHJ permitting
