Outside Interactions: Member Cooperatives, Power Suppliers, Supply Vendors, EPC Contractors, Solar Developers, O&M providers and other entities as needed.
Central’s Renewable Resources Project Management: Assist with origination, development, and system integration of Utility Scale Solar, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Industrial solar projects and other renewable resources. Manage competitive Request for Proposals (RFPs). Work with power suppliers, where appropriate. Work with Central’s Member Services Department and Power Team to support economic development interests.
Central’s REC Management: Manage Central’s portfolio of renewable energy credits (RECs) and other renewable attributes. Lead origination efforts for price discovery and execution of Renewable Energy Credits (RECs) for co-op consumers. Work with Central’s Member Services Department as Power Supply’s representative for developing Member Programs and Policy. Work directly with Central’s Portfolio Manager to maintain up to date position modeling and reporting on Central’s solar production and resultant REC positions; including REC registry subscriptions, REC transfers, and REC retirements.
Central’s Solar Operations and Maintenance Management: Assist in negotiating and maintaining preventative and corrective maintenance agreements for all solar projects following good utility practice. Monitor solar production, efficiencies, alarms and arrange for corrective action(s) with Member Cooperatives, PPA providers, and O&M providers. Provide renewable issues notifications, initial troubleshooting, and coordination between Member Cooperatives and vendors for corrective and annual maintenance. Manage Central’s Solar Monitoring Platform(s) and Reporting.
Central’s Project Management: At the direction of Manager of Renewable Resources, may be requested to assist and or develop and integrate solar and/or storage project(s). This may include managing development activities and reporting on the following areas, but not limited to: site selection, land lease and purchases, surveying, and environmental compliance, SWPP engineering & permitting, civil development, EPC negotiations, contracting & construction permitting, business licensing, commissioning, PPA solicitation and negotiations, construction activities and timelines, energization, and integration.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Regularly communicate and report to Manager of Renewable Resources.
Support the development and execution of cost-competitive renewable and storage integration consistent with the company’s overall strategic objectives.
Lead and support various energy projects as needed, including technology assessment and commercial negotiations.
Develop and grow relationships with key suppliers, developers, and stakeholders.
Solar Generation Fleet: Manage operations and produce generation reports.
Manage Central’s and Member Cooperative’s REC position(s) within Central’s Portfolio Model, and corresponding tracking on appropriate REC Registry platform(s).
Assessment and measurement of REC management strategies/practices.
Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Associate’s degree
Minimum of 5 years of work experience with an electric cooperative, electric utility, energy supplier, energy consultant, renewable energy project developer, or energy intensive consumer
Experience in Excel – Building and managing models and working with large data sets
Experience with PowerPoint
Preferred Experience
Experience with energy settlements, wholesale energy markets, and modeling avoided cost of renewable energy integration
Experience analyzing and interpreting energy cost and generation data
Experience managing multiple projects and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and consultants
Experience in contract evaluation
Experience with asset development and integration
Experience in building cross-functional relationships
Experience with production cost modeling
Requirements
Travel with some overnight
This position will entail visiting generating stations and supplier facilities, and other entities as dictated by future needs of business
