The Department of Mechanical Engineering at Oakland University invites applications for a tenure track position at the assistant/associate professor level in the broad area of energy/sustainability engineering. The appointment would be effective as early as August 2025.
We seek applicants with research and teaching interests related to energy/sustainability including, but not limited to renewable energy, advanced energy storage and conversion, sustainable propulsion and fuels, sustainable building, and decarbonization. Successful candidates will be expected to develop an externally funded research program that includes fundamental and/or applied research. The candidate should be able to teach and develop courses in the area of energy and sustainability at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. An earned doctorate in mechanical engineering or a closely related field is required. Candidates must demonstrate experience with or a commitment to diversity and inclusion.
