Western Solar is seeking a general foreman to oversee and train our field crews and crew leads. The general foreman will manage and supervise multiple crews simultaneously and is responsible for photovoltaic system installations from beginning to end. The general foreman manages the installation of all photovoltaic mounting system components, assists with electrical equipment, and ensures successful operation of complete photovoltaic systems, while proficiently communicating and updating the status of projects with other staff. This is an outdoor position requiring work on elevated roofs, in harness, in inclement weather, throughout the year.
Job sites are primarily in Whatcom, Skagit, Island, Snohomish, and San Juan Counties. Our home office is in Bellingham.
Responsibilities:
Lead and oversee install crews and crew leads with a focus on teamwork, mentorship, safety, accuracy, and conscientious workmanship.
Provide on-site training and mentorship for crew and crew leads, ensuring that all workers receive adequate training and information.
Ensure completion of projects within established policies and procedures.
Ensure completion of projects within time frames and budgets.
Maintain high levels of quality assurance and quality control with an emphasis on crew safety.
Ensure installation vehicles have all materials, tools, and equipment to perform jobs safely and efficiently.
Assemble the solar array racking, properly seal all roof penetrations, and install all relative equipment.
Identify, diagnose, and troubleshoot system malfunctions and operational issues.
Communicate with customers prior to arriving at or leaving job sites and arrange access to properties if required.
Communicate with customers in a professional, considerate, and respectful manner.
Work closely with electricians to ensure efficient installation of electrical components.
Ensure that job sites are kept in a clean and professional manner.
Complete job safety survey upon arrival at the job sites.
Maintain communication with the project manager and prepare for upcoming projects, ensuring all parts and equipment are available and ready for installation.
Prepare completed projects for final electrical and structural inspections.

Requirements:
2+ year(s) previous solar installation experience.
Electrical experience.
Must have full range or mobility in upper and lower body; ability to work in various positions and environments.
Ability to lift, push and pull materials and equipment weighing approximately 50 pounds on a frequent basis.
Maintain professionalism and excellent customer service skills.
Work exceptionally well in a team environment.
Great attention to detail.
Valid WA Driver’s License and clean driving record required.
Maintain either 01/02 electrical license or an electrical trainee card.
Preferred Experience:
5+ years of solar installation experience.
2+ year(s) of roofing experience.
2+ year(s) of lead or installation management experience.
Experience complying with OSHA safety requirements and regulations.
