ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage, direct, and develop staff.
- Develop and manage implementation strategy for demand response initiatives, programs, and stakeholder outreach.
- Work with internal stakeholders on branding, publicity, and opportunities for influencing demand response
- Evaluate and recommend opportunities for load growth.
- Identify barriers to adoption and work with both internal and external stakeholders to address these and develop effective solutions.
- Participate in consumer organizations, committees, and other energy groups to share information and provide opportunities to be effective and responsive to community needs.
- Study and evaluate demand response opportunities, economic environments, and sustainability requirements, develop strategic initiatives to deploy these opportunities.
- Stay current with industry trends and innovations. Researches and develops potential new demand response programs.
- Manages demand response programs to increase resource optimization. Ensures appropriate system configuration and adequate system maintenance to maintain effective operations.
- To provide Energy Markets with accurate, reliable load data for scheduling power and controlling load through demand response installations. To provide the member cooperatives the same data to employ reliable demand response control.
- Provide for integration of systems supporting field operations, provide technical capability as required by all members. Develops and implements routine, preventative, and corrective maintenance practices.
- Prior experience in any or all of: demand response platforms, SCADA systems, communications networks, information technology operations highly desirable.
- Develops recommendations concerning long-range energy/load management strategies and programs. Monitors and takes corrective action to bring plan into compliance as required.
- Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures and attain knowledge and remain knowledgeable of regulations, laws, standards, and best practices applicable to functional area.
- Because Tri-State has an obligation to provide continuous, reliable electric service to its customers, the ability to work overtime at any time of the day or week is considered an essential function of the job.

REQUIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education and Training: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, Physical Science or related area.
Knowledge, Skills, and Ability: - Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and verbally.

Experience - Eight (8) years' experience in the Electric Utility industry with knowledge of, and an active interest in the technological advancement of some combination of the following: fossil generation, wind generation, solar generation, fuels systems, environmental controls, environmental impacts, substations, transmission lines, bulk and distributed energy storage, interconnected system operations, energy markets, communications, and end-use.
Other: - Willingness to travel as required. (Must possess a valid driver's license.)
DESIRED JOB QUALIFICATIONS - Knowledge of demand response, program development and deployment, performance tracking, and stakeholder engagement.
- Three (3) years' supervisory experience preferred.
