SOLAR TECHNICAL SPECIALIST / COMMERCIAL DESIGNER
Same Sun of Vermont, a dynamic solar design and installation company is looking for dedicated professionals to join our team. Based in Rutland, and operating throughout Vermont, and parts of New York and New Hampshire.

Description
Looking for a leader to add advanced expertise in the development of solar, battery back-up storage, off-grid and EV charging stations. Same Sun of Vermont, a well-established Vermont solar designer and installer is looking for a NABCEP-Certified PV Installation Professional.
The position will require the research of new products and technologies, understanding the development of commercial solar projects and net metering to the 500 KW AC level. Knowledge of safety protocols, code/regulatory compliance and one- and three-line drawings.
Experience working with local Vermont, New York and/or New Hampshire utilities a plus.

Primary Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with management, sales, operations and project management team as Technical Resource;
- Assist President on commercial site evaluations, prepare designs and reports for permit packages;
- Provide design and as-built support to service division for repair/troubleshooting purposes;
- Communicate with local AHJ’s as appropriate and work with operations team to ensure permit applications are compliant;
- Attend product trainings and research new products/technologies.
Qualifications
- Prior solar installation and/or 2+ years design experience required;
- NABCEP PV Installation Professional certification required; Vermont Solar S-license (or equivalent state license) or other certifications a plus;
- Basic understanding of building construction and familiarity with National Electric Code (NEC, 2017 and up) required;
- Experience and/or knowledge of battery storage systems preferred;
- Degree or specialty training in the trades with focus/concentration on solar is a plus;
- Great written and verbal communication;
- Strong computer skills, including MS office, google suite, CRM’s;
- Experience with visual design software such as SketchUp, AutoCad, SmartDraw, Visio, etc.;
- Familiarity/experience with solar design software, such as PVWatts, Helioscope, Aurora, Solmetric Suneye, etc desired.
