FACULTY VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT
The Grove School of Engineering at The City College of New York is seeking highly qualified candidates for an Assistant, Associate or Full Professor position who would develop and conduct research in the energy area, preferably with emphasis on the application of new energy technologies including renewable energy, advanced nuclear reactors, thermal energy storage, smart grids and energy efficient building technologies. It is anticipated the appointment will begin in Fall 2022.
The position would form part of the core faculty of the Mechanical Engineering Department and be affiliated with the CUNY Energy Institute. The candidate is expected to contribute to teaching in the Mechanical Engineering Department, both at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and also develop new courses. The Department has active research programs in Energy, Advanced Materials, and Mechatronics. The CUNY Energy Institute (https://www.ccny.cuny.edu/energy) has ongoing active and highly funded research programs in energy storage, nuclear energy and oil/gas/water nexus, as well as research components addressing complex fluids under the NSF-funded Partnerships for International Research and Education (PIRE). The faculty member for this position would be expected to not only enhance the existing research components, but also develop new areas of research especially in the field of energy. The candidate will share responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory and other functions.

QUALIFICATIONS
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent as noted below. Also required are the ability to teach successfully, interest in productive scholarship or creative achievement, and ability to cooperate with others for the good of the institution.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have a potential for building up and raising funding for a significant R&D program. Those applying for an Associate Professor or Full Professor position should have established records in research that demonstrate nationally and internationally recognized expertise.
