Due to record-breaking growth, we are actively seeking an experienced Solar Battery Installation Technician to work out of our Oceanside, CA headquarters. This important position is a critical part of the installation team, providing installation support for customers who include battery backup as part of their solar package. The ideal candidate will be motivated and a team player who is ready to take his/her technical career opportunities to the next level. Additional training and support will be provided as needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to the following:
Work in tandem with our solar install team to install and connect residential energy storage systems (batteries) and/or commission those systems
Remotely identify and troubleshoot installed battery systems displaying incorrect or improper production or consumption load profiles
Work with equipment vendors to diagnose hardware failures
Escalate unresolved technical issues by scheduling a field technician to troubleshoot on site via the Service Department
Creating and configuring monitoring portals for customer battery systems in appropriate manufacturer software (Solar Edge and Tesla)
Provide exceptional customer service via phone and email
Creating and configuring monitoring portals for customer battery systems online
Conduct ongoing performance monitoring of battery systems.
Educate customers on how to monitor and review battery portals
Locating/retrieving customer information on Salesforce and other CRMS as needed
Performing solar installation and other tasks as assigned by manager
A minimum of 2 years of experience in a solar or battery install role
Experience with SolarEdge Portal or Tesla Portal
Experience with failure analysis/diagnosis and the processes used to facilitate them
NABCEP Board Certification preferred
Strong communication skills (written and verbal) required
Previous troubleshooting experience is a plus
Previous battery experience is a plus
Experience with Salesforce and Excel is a plus
Ability to work with minimal supervision required
