Fine Arts Gallery Coordinator has primary responsibility for all aspects for shows in the Akillian Art Gallery and the Student/Faculty Art Gallery on the Canton Campus.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Coordinating and managing (this includes providing a schedule for open hours to the public) two designated contemporary gallery spaces
Scheduling fine art exhibitions (5-8 exhibits per academic year)
Scheduling opening events
Create and provide in-coming exhibition documents to artists
Install & de-install exhibition including producing and installing wall text
Working with college and community partners
Managing budget; scheduling gallery maintenance
Jurying shows and securing jurors for juried formal Shows
Outreach to local artists; collaborate with outside facilities for joint exhibition opportunities
Work with College Communications Office (write press releases, produce promotional materials)
Other duties as assigned
Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts
At least 5 years of experience in exhibition planning, installing, promoting, and scheduling art exhibits
Established contacts with the local art community
Ability to work closely with the Office of College Communications for approval on all materials is a must
May require occasional evening and weekend hours
Proficient in drafting press releases, gallery announcements, and other graphic needs to document, and advertise
At least 5 years of experience working in museums and/or art galleries

Position Status: Part-time, Non-benefited position
Hours: 18 hours per week, may require occasional evening and weekend hours
