The Work Study Assistant, under general supervision, is responsible for the daily operations of the climbing wall, kayak training, Angler education and instruction, archery education and instruction, assisting with food growth & harvesting at the PV farm and demonstration preparation in the demo-kitchen, outdoor pursuits facilities and equipment cleaning, marketing and promotions of program area and related task assigned per shift.
Supervise climbing wall and clean climbing wall.
Lead campus presentations.
Market and promote Outdoor Pursuits (OP) activities and events.
Maintain bike check out/return and maintenance.
Lead instruction for kayaking and boater safety.
Lead instruction for hunter education and safety.
Assist with food planting, growth and harvesting in PVAMU Farm.
Assist with food preparation and demonstrations.
Lead instruction for archery.
Lead instruction for Angler education.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience:
Presently enrolled for at least nine (9) graduate or six (6) undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done.
Must be in academic good standing (SAP) as demonstrated through your college; minimum 2.0 GPA
No prior experience necessary
For work eligibility during a summer term, a student must be enrolled for at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the term in which the work is to be done or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming fall term.
