Graphic Designer Stanford University Continuing Studies Program (Casual, non-benefits eligible position, approximately 45+ hours a quarter)
Stanford Continuing Studies Stanford University's Continuing Studies Program (CSP) is a premier adult learning program offering more than 600 courses, workshops, and seminars to more than 17,000 students annually. The mission of Stanford Continuing Studies is to share the rich educational resources of Stanford University with adult students living in the Bay Area and beyond.
Stanford Continuing Studies is seeking a Graphic Designer to assist in the production of graphics for online video content. This is a part-time role that will primarily work remotely in conjunction with the production team to successfully create educational videos and marketing content.
The candidate must have a strong attention to detail in order to ensure graphics are consistent and adhere to solid design principles. The ability to work remotely and autonomously is a critical component to the position. Self-direction and the ability to own a project from start to finish while remaining flexible to changeable production schedules is important for consistency and team communication.
This is an hourly, part-time position that can fluctuate based on quarterly project loads. Tracking and reporting hours will be expected.
Job responsibilities include:
Produce still and motion graphics for digital platforms and video that enhance the understanding of educational content.
Create graphics and images for use in videos being used in Warpwire and the Canvas LMS system.
Work closely with production manager and staff to ensure that graphics are created efficiently, and change requests are made in a timely manner.
Analyze video and text to help determine if graphics are necessary.
Ability to maintain a consistent look-and-feel within graphics work.
Provide design support to video production team.
Maintain quality control of content, and support design strategy and execution.
Inspect proofs for accuracy and adherence to appropriate production standards.
Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in the position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-2 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated understanding of design principles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, InDesign, and Illustrator required.
Ability to produce high volumes of graphics, while maintaining a strong quality of work.
Comfortability with tight deadlines and the ability to answer to multiple constituents and prioritize projects, including working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexible schedule to work remotely and attend online meetings when required.
Ability to take and incorporate feedback to improve designs and adapt to changing priorities.
Self-motivated individual who takes initiative on new projects is preferred.
Anticipates and/or responds effectively to changing trends and circumstances, welcomes fresh perspectives, and learns from past mistakes and adjusts accordingly.
Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Team player who can effectively work with others and is willing to help out when needed.
