Editor Stanford University Continuing Studies Program (Casual, non-benefits eligible position, approximately 150+ hours a quarter)
Stanford Continuing Studies Stanford University's Continuing Studies Program (CSP) is a premier adult learning program offering more than 600 courses, workshops, and seminars to more than 17,000 students annually. The mission of Stanford Continuing Studies is to share the rich educational resources of Stanford University with adult students living in the Bay Area and beyond.
Stanford Continuing Studies is seeking an Editor to assist in the production of media content for online course offerings and promotional material. This is a part-time role that will primarily work remotely in conjunction with the production team to successfully create educational videos and marketing content.
The candidate must have a strong attention to detail in order to ensure editing is professional, consistent, and adheres to solid editing principles. The ability to work remotely and autonomously is a critical component to the position. Self-direction and the project ownership from start to finish while remaining flexible to changeable production schedules is important for consistency and team communication.
This is an hourly, part-time position that can fluctuate based on quarterly project loads. Tracking and reporting hours will be expected.
Job responsibilities include:
Edit video that enhances the understanding of educational content.
Color correction to maintain consistency and high-quality media output.
Audio editing and cleanup in order to provide clean audio to all final media.
Output editing projects to multiple formats for internet hosting and ensure correct material is uploaded to Canvas and Warpwire.
Work closely with production manager and staff to ensure that projects are created efficiently, and change requests from stakeholders are made in a timely manner.
Efficiently backup and archive editing projects to cloud-based storage.
Analyze video and scripts to determine if extra elements are needed to enhance content.
Ability to maintain a consistent look-and-feel from project to project.
Maintain quality control of projects, and support design strategy and execution.
Other duties as assigned.
To be successful in the position, you will bring:
Bachelor's degree preferred.
1-2 years of relevant work experience with demonstrated understanding of design principles.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Proficiency with Adobe CC: Premiere, After Effects, Photoshop, Illustrator, and DaVinci Resolve is required.
Ability to edit high volumes of short and precise videos in a timely manner, while maintaining a strong quality of work.
Comfortable with tight deadlines and the ability to answer to multiple constituents and prioritize projects, including working on multiple projects simultaneously.
Flexible schedule to work remotely and attend online meetings when required.
Ability to take and incorporate feedback to improve and adapt to changing priorities.
Self-motivated individual who takes initiative on new projects is preferred.
Anticipates and/or responds effectively to changing trends and circumstances, welcomes fresh perspectives, and learns from past mistakes and adjusts accordingly.
Strong organizational and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
Ability to perform detailed work with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Team player who can effectively work with others and is willing to help out when needed.
