The PV STEP Intern, under general supervision, will assist the Library's Periodicals Department with daily operations.
Providing quality control for digital images of thesis and dissertations
Alerting supervisor to issues with scanning equipment or output
Making suggestions on how to streamline a process or task
Conducting digital imaging and reviewing digital images for completeness
Assisting with other digitization projects as needed
Performing other duties as assigned
Required Education and Experience:
Enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student during the Spring 2019 semester
Enrolled in at least six (6) graduate or undergraduate semester credit hours during the summer or preregistered at least six (6) undergraduate semester hours or nine (9) graduate semester hours for the upcoming Fall semester
Undergraduate students: Completed 60 hours by the conclusion of Spring 2019
Minimum of 2.5 GPA and be in good academic standing
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Experience with Microsoft, Adobe Acrobat to create PDFs
Physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
Commit to the entire internship experience (10 weeks, 30 hours a week)
