The College of Humanities and Social Sciences of the American University of Armenia (www.aua.am) is seeking applicants for a full-time faculty position in the Master’s Program in Teaching English as a Foreign Language (MA TEFL) starting in August 2019 and beyond.
The MA TEFL is a dynamic two-year program designed to meet the needs of an educational system in transition. The MA TEFL curriculum combines theory and practical skills, providing students an opportunity to conduct research in the field of language teaching and applied linguistics. (http://tefl.aua.am)
Qualifications: Successful candidates will hold a PhD in TESOL, Applied Linguistics, Second Language Acquisition, Foreign Language Education, or related field. Documented experience in teaching (including English as a second or foreign language) is required. Preference will be given to candidates who can teach courses in at least three of the following areas: Second Language Acquisition; Vocabulary Learning and Teaching, Pedagogical ESL/EFL Grammar; TEFL/TESL Methodology; ESP; Curriculum Design, Research Methods, Teaching Practicum and Capstone Supervision. Previous experience in conducting academic duties in an international setting is preferred.
Compensation: Compensation commensurate with university-wide pay scale, qualifications, and experience. International faculty receive a monthly housing allowance, annual home-leave allowance, and a one-time relocation allowance for new hires.
