Analyze, synthesize & design of complex Power Electronics and Hardware Systems which are incorporated in new Product lines for Industrial Inverters/Converters, under the direction of principal engineers and project managers. Responsible for the development of Industrial Control Power Conversion products. Responsible for the development cycles of large product development projects, uses unique capabilities in the analysis, design, scheduling of tasks, assessment of costs. Responsible for generating requirements, design specifications, implementation plans, and the design execution of AC Drive hardware families while directing multiple engineer's and technician's activities to support the successful execution of those designs.
Analyze, synthesize, design and schedule the implementation of these tasks on cost-effective basis. Expertise in electrical and electro-mechanical circuits and systems in all three of the disciplines of analog, digital, and power using advanced simulation tools and procedures.
Analyze complex malfunctioning electrical and electro-mechanical circuits or systems and assess root cause and subsequent cost effective resolution
Familiarity with apropriate engnieering tools such as Matlab Simulink, Simplorer, Maxwell and Q3D.
Specific expertise in electrical power devices such as: IGBT's, Switchmode Power Supplies, Bus Structures and Power Capacitors.
Proficient at analyzing EMC susceptibility and emissions from power conversion products. Familiarity with EMC mitigation principals and EMC standards.
Familiar with Design for Six Sigma principals of statistical analysis and problem / solution selection.
Participant in concept generation, prototype validation testing and product qualification testing with respect to schedule and problem resolution for assigned programs.
Responsible of participation in Competitive Analysis and Voice of the Customer exercises to determine new product requirements.
Develops products utilizing required development processes and process improvement.
Assist manfacturing in the resolution of complex test and manufacturing issues for products, and to assist field service in the resloution of complex field application issues with respect to product performance and system design. Interface with customers in equipment conception, testing and start-up.
Must complete design and implementation documentation as specified by the Common Development Processes, and assocaited with the functional process requirements.
Must keep a notebook of documented notes that thoroughly explains conceptual thoughts, conditions, restrictions, analysis, synthesis, and test results that serve as justification for circuit and system design.
Must complete design and implementation documentation as specified by their Project Manager.
Must understand and practice laboratory procedures for the safe and efficient use of electronic instrumentation, electrical power, rotating electrical machinery, and general laboratory cleanliness.
Analyze and divide projects into tasks, schedule these tasks, and be the technical leader in the cost-effective implementation of the tasks, assuming responsibility and accountability for the timely completion of the tasks.
Familiarity with appropriate Agency requirements such as UL508 and EN61800-3, 61800-5 product specific standards.
