The Board of Directors of Highline Electric Association (HEA) invites qualified applications for the position of General Manager. The Board has contracted with NRECA’s Executive Search to facilitate the search process.
Highline Electric Association is a financially sound electric distribution cooperative providing reliable service to seven counties in Northeastern Colorado and four counties in Southwestern Nebraska. HEA provides services to 10,840 residential, commercial and industrial meters with a dedicated staff of 53 employees. Revenue is in excess of $55 million. The 3,168 electric irrigation motors in the service area contribute approximately 50% of the energy sales. Headquarters are located in Holyoke, with branch offices in the Colorado towns of Sterling and Ovid.
The successful candidate will be one of high integrity with demonstrated leadership skills and career achievements. The individual must have strong people skills to engage the membership, community and build cohesiveness among the employees while nurturing an atmosphere of teamwork. The position requires progressive supervisory experience and demonstrated management skills; cooperative experience is preferred. Strong oral/written communication, partnered with an understanding and respect of the cooperative principles and business model is imperative. Areas of emphasis include member and board relations, fiscal management, strategic planning, renewable energy, innovation and technology. A college degree in an applicable field is preferred.
Holyoke is the county seat of Phillips County and sits on the golden plains of northeastern Colorado. Three major highways run through the community Hwy. 385, 6 and 23.
