The Director of the Institute for Regenerative Resources and AgriSciences (IRRA) will lead development and coordination of applied or translational research in areas broadly related to Regenerative Resources and AgriSciences, including but not limited to Natural Resources, Environmental Science, Land Stewardship, and Renewable Energy. Reporting directly to the Dean, College of Science, Engineering, and Technology, with accountability to the Provost and Senior Vice President for Academic Affairs, and President, the Director of the IRRA will oversee the Water Resource Center (WRC), supporting the Associate Director and professional staff with grant writing, outreach, and exploration of new funding opportunities. The Director will also be responsible for planning and launching a new Ag Solutions Center, to be housed within IRRA. Additionally, this position is responsible for federal and state compliance, professional standards of practice, policies and procedures, recognitions and awards, partnerships and exchanges, and resource development. The Director will convene IRRA affiliated faculty and staff, and serve on selected committees, task forces, and shared governance bodies, to advance applied research and curricular innovations in alignment with College, Academic Affairs, University, and Minnesota State system strategic directions and priorities.
Master's degree in an area of study related to the mission/purpose of the IRRA. (Conferred on an official transcript at the time of application.)
Minimum five (5) years experience in higher education, state/federal agency, non-profits and/or related type type of research experience.
Demonstrated success in obtaining grants and/or contracts.
Outreach and communication skills.
Implementation of initiatives in academia, government agencies, non-profits and/or industry.
Experience in disciplines related to IRRA to meet research, educational and outreach needs.
Evidence of working in a collaborative environment and in the professional development of staff.
Exceptional oral and written communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Experience in fundraising and/or relations with funding agents.
Demonstrated commitment to leading and supporting academic and/or research program quality, at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.

Knowledge of current standards and best practices in fields related to the IRRA.
Ph.D. degree in an area of study related to the mission/purpose of the IRRA.
Demonstrated success in grants, extension and/or outreach related to agriculture.
Demonstrated ability to lead and significantly support integrated strategic planning processes for a research or academic unit.
Demonstrated ability to supervise, develop, and/or lead a cross-functional team.
Demonstrated ability to effectively lead in a collective bargaining and/or shared governance environment.
Experience working in a public higher education university and state system.
Ability to engage in professional leadership and service, as a senior academic administrator, at the state, regional, national, and international levels to advance strategic directions.
