We are currently seeking a Treasury/Cash Management & Investment Analyst who will be responsible for the analysis and execution of daily cash management activities including cash flow forecasting. Incumbent acts as an advocate of MMWEC’s plans, policies, and procedures with the company and when representing the company at meetings and other functions.
This position requires frequent interaction with MMWEC upper management and works closely with the Treasury and Financial Services Manager to provide analysis and reporting on the investment portfolio. The incumbent will be responsible for providing information to Accounting and Financial Reporting and assisting with the year-end audit requirements related to cash management and the investment portfolio. This person must be able to analyze conflicting commodity data, economic data and forecasts and make rational investment decisions. Must meet or exceed benchmarks established for portfolio performance, while structuring portfolio for cash planning requirements that sometimes limit the duration and yield on the portfolio.
Establish the daily cash position and determine funds available for investment by 9:00am
Reconcile previous day bank activity and post transactions to JD Edwards
Track disbursement and receipt trends to develop short and long term cash flow forecast
Assist in projecting Member system revenue requirements including Working Capital assessments
Maintain and generate daily reports such as: cash receipts, funds transfer, balance, loan borrowing and draw down reports
Continually pursue new avenues of maximizing the return on MMWEC’s portfolio while adhering to the General Bond Resolution, Investment Guidelines and procedures
Execute investment trades including updating CashPro and SymPro
Authorized to execute investment transactions of up to six months in maturity
Produce daily position reconciliation reports and trading reports on a time sensitive basis
Responsible for the recording and compliance with risk management policies related to investment trading transactions
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE
A Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting Required; MBA in Finance or Economics preferred
5 or more years of cash management and investment management experience in a corporate environment
Comfortable with technology and using J.D. Edwards & Bloomberg software
Experience in fixed income, equity investment strategies, investment accounting and corporate/utility finance
Must be detail oriented, innovative, and have the ability to handle multiple responsibilities
Strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong math and problem-solving skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Office including Excel macros, and the desire to learn additional applications.
Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future
