California State University, Sacramento: The Department of Kinesiology and Health Science at California State University Sacramento, seeks applicants for a tenure-track faculty position in Occupational Health and Safety at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank. This position will be housed in the Department of Health Science (to be established as of summer, 2019). The Department offers a well-established, high-demand undergraduate program, and is developing a graduate program (MPH)
Applicants must hold a doctorate in Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Public Health, Health Science or closely related field. ABD candidates will be considered. Candidates must have demonstrated experience teaching occupational safety and/or health related courses. The successful candidate must be an effective teacher and scholar who can teach in one or more safety or health areas such as injury prevention, safety management, occupational health, general safety, safety laws & regulations, injury investigation, epidemiology, or data analysis.
Candidates must exhibit a capacity to utilize instructional technology in teaching, and have demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills which promote collaboration within the department, college, and across campus.
Preference will be given to applicants with academic background necessary to teach both undergraduate and graduate courses, successful university teaching experience, work experience in the safety and health profession, membership in the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), experience teaching in both online and classroom settings, college classroom and online curriculum development experience, ability to work cooperatively in diverse academic programs, and Professional certifications such as ASP, CSP, and CIH. A successful candidate will have broad knowledge in the field of safety/health science, a demonstrated aptitude for teaching, and a passion for providing an exceptional learning experience for our students.
