Where the Chemistry Happens
We are seeking a self-motivated problem solver like you to develop in-depth technical knowledge for areas of responsibility and apply this knowledge to the Continuous Improvement of production units at the Kankakee site. You will work co-located with the Operations Team with a primary focus on implementation of strategic capital investment projects. Projects can be focused on EHS compliance, capacity improvements, maintenance reliability, technology improvements, and quality assurance. You will also be responsible for PSM activities such as Management of Change and participating on PHA teams. In addition, you will support the Daily Operations Team in a technical troubleshooting role.

Formula for Success
Leveraging your education in Engineering (preferably Chemical or Mechanical) or Chemistry combined with your experience working in a manufacturing facility, you will serve as a Manufacturing Representative on capital projects ($300k to $1MM+) at all phases including ideation, scope development, design, detail engineering, construction, commissioning and training. As a Manufacturing Representative, you are working closely with and training the Operations team to ensure functionality and performance of new equipment.
Your drive for continued learning combined with your problem-solving ability will be a valued asset as you develop in-depth technical knowledge of one or more processing steps to assist with troubleshooting activities and turnaround planning.
Effectively collaborating with unit management, you will identify and prioritize potential capital projects.
Your strong commitment to workplace health and safety will be essential as you ensure c ompliance & completion of EHS related initiatives (Process Safety Management, Mechanical Integrity, Process Hazard Analysis, Responsible Care Management, Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP), Accident/Incident investigation) including Root Cause Analysis and Action Item follow up.
Utilizing your strong analytical skills, you will participate in PHA reviews for areas of expertise.
Your strong organizational skills will be a benefit as you ensure plant changes or modifications are captured and documented as part of PSM Management of Change and internal Operational Excellence programs.
Demonstrating your experience in batch and continuous chemical processes, you will assist in the coordination, planning, and execution of shutdown work including maintenance and capital project activities.
Your strong knowledge of automation tools and techniques will serve you well as you utilize them to accomplish goals and improve Operations efficiency.
Successfully engaging across the business, you will serve on sitewide teams to drive continuous improvement at the Kankakee site.
