The Department of Materials Science and Engineering at Rutgers University seeks to fill one or more tenure track faculty positions. We are searching for energetic and visionary individuals in the broad area of modern materials synthesis, processing, and characterization, but preference will be given to individuals working in the following areas.
Computational materials modeling
Clean energy & energy storage/conversion
Polymer/Biomaterials synthesis and processing
Advanced characterization or microscopy Appointment at the Assistant Professor level would be expected, although outstanding candidates at higher ranks will also be considered.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Applicants are expected to have a doctoral degree in materials science and engineering, applied physics, or a closely related discipline. The ideal candidate is expected to have exceptional potential for obtaining external research support, as well as excellent investigative, communication, and leadership skills. The candidate is expected to develop outstanding research and teaching programs on both the graduate and undergraduate levels. This includes the development of both undergraduate and graduate courses, the supervision of graduate and undergraduate students, and academic advising of students at all levels.
Candidates with suitable credentials may also be considered for the newly-created Rodkin-Weintraub endowed Chair in Engineering.
