The Systems Administrator II (Senior Infrastructure Systems Administrator), is responsible for performing more complex and non-routine specialized infrastructure systems administration support functions, such as troubleshooting, analysis, research, de-bugging, and problem-solving. Functions as a fulfiller for an assortment of enterprise infrastructure services.
Required Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Three years of systems administration experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with a range of diverse people.
Must have strong interpersonal skills.
Preferred Education and Experience:
Any of the following: Two years of experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange, SCCM, or Lync (Skype for Business);
One year of experience with Solar Winds;
One year of experience with Citrix or F5 load balancer administration; Two years of experience with VMware administration;
Two years of experience with Linux server administration.
Preferred Knowledge and Skills:
Advanced cross-disciplined IT skills, advanced report-writing skills, advanced analysis and troubleshooting skills, advanced client relations skills, requirement assessment and analysis skills, project management methodology, understands context/interrelationships, and proficiency with ITIL.
Preferred Licenses, Certifications and Registrations:
ITIL Foundations, PMP.
Administer large and/or complex client infrastructure systems. Help design and implement new infrastructure systems or upgrades.
Install and configure infrastructure system software and hardware; provide technical oversight of infrastructure systems testing and application; and conduct infrastructure systems performance analyses and tuning.
Assist with routine audits of systems and software.
Execute test plans for systems upgrades or releases.
Analyze infrastructure system logs and identifying potential issues with systems.
Troubleshoot and repair complex hardware and software for infrastructure systems; troubleshoot and repair configuration problems; troubleshoot routine network problems.
Provide Tier II and assist with Tier III support. Evaluates and follows through on issues and problems until resolved or escalated.
Implement new technology deployments and system integration testing.
Implement the evaluation of new technologies to determine their applicability to the client s needs.
Participate in training and professional development sessions.
Assist project leader with developing work plan and time schedules for projects including outlining phases and identifying personnel and computing equipment requirements.
Perform annual security assessments. Help design infrastructure system security measures and data backup and protection methods. Help develop disaster recovery plans for infrastructure systems. Performs other duties as assigned.
May coordinate the technical activities of a small project team; assist and mentor other employees in resolving various issues; participate with management personnel in planning, direction, and coordinating operational and/or procedural matters to meet goals and objectives.
May produce reports and summaries for management and/or users including status reports, problem reports, progress summaries, and system utilization reports; participate in change management and problem tracking; and perform all or some of the duties of a Infrastructure Systems Administrator.
Review the accuracy of documentation of infrastructure support methods, procedures, and configuration.
