About the Position
Lewis and Clark College is seeking a mental health counselor to provide mental health counseling to students. Counseling duties include mental health assessment, treatment planning, consultation and referral. Counseling will include crisis intervention, situational, relational, mental health, academic and developmental counseling. The counselor will work as part of a multidisciplinary and collaborative team, managing a caseload of student clients and maintaining clinical documentation. The counselor will be on-call to provide after-hours emergency consultation for 1-2 weeks during their appointment.
What You'll Do
Mental Health Counseling
Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Social Work, or in a closely related field
2 years experience providing clinical services in mental health settings
1 year experience counseling adolescents or young adults
Applicants need to be licensed in the state of Oregon as counselors, psychologists, marriage & family therapists, or social workers, or be able to obtain such license by the employment start date
Ability to work effectively with diverse students (e.g., of varying ethnicities, race, gender, nationality, sexual orientation, disability, etc.)
Strong clinical, communication, and collaboration skills
Nice to Haves
Experience providing clinical services in a college mental health setting
Stand, sit, walk, repetitive hand movements, seeing, talking, hearing
30 hours per week
Starts on September 10th and runs until November 21, 2018. There is a possibility of an extension through December 19.
$4,500 - $4,800 per month
