The responsibilities for this position are divided into two parts: Community Priorities and Campus Priorities.
Work with Quarter Time Member to develop a Community Advisory Board.
Plan, Promote and Oversee 2 Community Energy Education Events.
Recruit volunteers, community members, and energy efficiency organizations
Recruit participants from the community including economically disadvantaged households
Plan, promote, and oversee 2 Window Insulating Insert Build Events and Installation into Homes
Recruit households, volunteers, and community organizations to participate in Window Builds
Organize a potluck meal and other community-building necessities for successful events
Coordinate the window installations with participating households
Conduct 2-3 home visits for participating households
Plan, promote, and oversee Community Green Certification Audits
Conduct home Audits and assist with paperwork for other qualifying energy incentive programs
Organize 2 Green Jobs community forums
Recruit presenters and participants
Develop Maine Energy Efficiency Guidebook and other resource materials
Plan and oversee campus Energy Education Events to raise awareness about energy efficiency and cost savings for the institution and for students living on and off campus
Recruit student participants
Recruit energy efficiency organizations to help with education events
Organize and lead events
Plan and oversee campus Green Certification Audits to create behavioral change around energy efficiency
Conduct campus Audits
Recruit student volunteers for MPES community events
Develop other projects around energy efficiency on campus as needed
Act as a liaison between Quarter Time & Minimum Time Members and site supervisor
Applicant's must be at least 17 and a US citizen
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Well-developed organizational abilities
Strong team member and leadership skills
Knowledge/experience with community engagement, partnership building, and volunteer recruitment
Motivated, independent worker
Valid driver's license and car
Prior work with community partners and/or college students
Experience in environmental stewardship or energy efficiency initiatives
Strong interpersonal skills and comfortable speaking in public
Volunteer management and event planning experience

Please note that all Members must satisfy the National Service Criminal History Check eligibility criteria.
This is a full-time, year-long temporary position that comes with a very modest stipend and an education credit. This position does not offer housing or meal plans like some AmeriCorps positions do. The full-time position will start on August 15th, 2018 and will have a dedicated office space at the Unity College: Flagship campus in Unity, Maine.
