Greenheart International, located in Chicago, Illinois, is a nonprofit committed to connecting people and planet to create a more peaceful and sustainable global community. We achieve this through a unique and diverse collection of programs fostering cultural exchange, eco-fair trade, volunteerism, personal development, and environmentalism.
Our Greenheart Outreach Department provides support for Greenheart Odyssey, our youth programs equipping under-resourced students in Chicago, along with our international high school and college students, to become globally-minded community leaders through leadership experiences and volunteerism. By planning leadership experiences and building community relationships, our team provides scholarships for youth to learn and grow through summer camp, international travel experiences, leadership conferences, and volunteer service opportunities.

Responsibilities of the Assistant include, but are not limited to:
Assist in event planning of Greenheart Global Leaders Conference, Alumni Council Conference, Camp Greenheart, and other Greenheart events
Update Outreach written materials and marketing documents as needed
Assist in updating Greenheart Club website content
Manage signups and approve volunteer hours in the Greenheart Club
Track testimonials and follow up on potential guest blog writers
Collect and edit content for the monthly AlumNews newsletter
Edit and draft blog posts
Create social media content and graphics
Create e-blasts for various audiences using Constant Contact
Assist in updating photos to online sites
Assist with various trip preparations and event planning
Assist with any urgent and unexpected items
Perform occasional data entry and application processing
Bachelor’s degree in progress or higher.
Creative and out-of-the-box thinking
Self-directed and flexible with an exceptional ability to multi-task
Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work in an exhilarating and fast-paced environment
An ability to interact with groups of all ages, nationalities, ethnicities and backgrounds
Dedicated to cultural exchange, travel and/or passionate about learning from other cultures
Outgoing personality with a willingness to learn
Strong work ethic and excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills
Excellent computer skills with competence in Microsoft Office Suite
Interest in the cultural exchange industry and learning more about visas
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferences: knowledge of social media outlets and WordPress. Spanish language fluency is useful but not necessary.
