Posting Summary: The University of Virginia seeks a Senior Project/Program Manager (SPM) to plan, manage & track complex IT infrastructure & support projects related to the Health System Information Technology (HIT) & the Academic Information Technology Services (ITS) Common Solutions Program (CSP). The SPM will play an instrumental role in advancing the technology mission across the UVA enterprise. The CSP is designed to improve technology services & associated user experiences across the separate UVA Academic Division & Medical Center IT platforms. The SPM will Lead large-scale IT projects that directly enhance technology services through the UVA enterprise; Build on your experience with keeping multiple projects moving while handling team expectations & interacting with technical resources & have the opportunity to further develop your project management skills within a dynamic/talented organization.
The SPM will be a collaborative IT professional who has led project teams through complex technology initiatives, process improvement/change & change management initiatives with successful & tangible outcomes. The SPM will develop interdependent project plans, budgets, schedules, communication strategies, QA plans, & risk management plans associated with the HIT/ITS Common Solutions Program. He/she will coordinate, track & oversee multiple concurrent projects & milestones involving multi-department teams. Must be diplomatic & collegial, with excellent interpersonal & communication skills. Must have demonstrated success in driving & influencing team performance when individual team members formally report to different managers. Must have strong record for delivering IT projects on time & on budget. Requires strong persuasion, influence & negotiation skills. Must be skilled & experienced in facilitating meetings & making presentations to technical directors/staff as well as to functional managers/staff. Projects will be managed in accordance with internal PPM standards & best practices.

Preferred Qualifications: Master's Degree; 9 years of direct IT project management experience successfully managing highly complex & interdependent technology projects; IT project management experience in a University &/or Medical Center setting preferred; Experience with enterprise level Identity & Access Management initiatives, federated Active Directory environments, Office365 migrations/deployments, & major IT projects involving thousands of enterprise end-users; Experience with multiple PM methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, Hybrid) preferred; PMP Certification; Scrum Master; MS Project, MS Office productivity suite, Slack, Office 365 Groups & Teams, SharePoint, & other project team collaboration tools. This is a 2 year term-limited position with benefits dedicated to the successful implementation of the HIT/ITS Common Solutions Program
