The Green Building Alliance 2030 Outreach Coordinator will create and distribute information regarding efforts within and related to the Pittsburgh 2030 District. Resources, communications, and events must be developed in a timely manner and provide relevant educational information and networking opportunities to 2030 partners and stakeholders. This position reports to GBA’s Pittsburgh 2030 District Senior Director and works closely with GBA’s Data & Performance Director.

The 2030 Outreach Coordinator is an integral part of the Pittsburgh 2030 District team, working collaboratively toward aggressive energy, water, and transportation emissions reduction goals. Efforts include, but are not limited to, the following:
Support Pittsburgh 2030 District stakeholder engagement:
Manage logistics and content development for 2030 Partner events, including up to 12 Partner meetings and four Bridge to 2030 events per year, the annual Progress Report Reception, and others.
Collaborate on development of GBA’s annual report, including data collection and entry, copywriting, and editing.
Address 2030 District Partner inquiries regarding high-performance building issues, products, services, financing, codes, and suppliers.
Serve as liaison with small building owners and businesses to collect data, analyze results of energy and water efficiency projects, and create case studies to reflect and promote results.
Assist in recruitment efforts for prospective and new 2030 District Partners, including administrative onboarding tasks.
Develop expertise on building performance best practices and the green building industry; track green building industry news, happenings, and resources.
Maintain partner information in CiviCRM database.
Provide assistance to other strategic GBA and Pittsburgh 2030 District initiatives.
Drive Pittsburgh 2030 District communication goals:
Research, create, and evolve Pittsburgh 2030 District collateral and communications in partnership with Pittsburgh 2030 District Senior Director, GBA staff and national partners. Materials will include case studies, articles, PowerPoint presentations, overview documents, presentations, etc. that support outreach efforts and partners.
Curate online content for various resources, including e-newsletters, social media, blog posts, resource sections of Pittsburgh 2030 District and GBA websites, and online newsletters that committed properties and others can use.
Develop other outreach mechanisms to promote healthy and high-performing building best practices.
Represent the Pittsburgh 2030 District brand to attract additional partners while promoting Pittsburgh as a healthy, progressive, and high-performing region.
Assist in collection and management of 2030 District data:
Support property data entry and information collection, and continue to improve it for all existing and future District buildings.
Assist with ongoing property performance (against baselines) tracking, including annual synthesis of districtwide benchmark data for aggregated publication.
Help Pittsburgh 2030 District properties define and track property performance compared to national and District energy, water, transportation, and indoor air quality baselines using Energy Star Portfolio Manager and other tools.
Provide one-on-one support to partners via phone and in-person.
Maintain program documentation, including forms, spreadsheets, and administrative manuals.
Support Pittsburgh 2030 District program administration & GBA as an organization
Assist with grant writing and reporting.
Support GBA education programs and events.
Provide communication and organizational assistance to other strategic GBA initiatives, including the Erie Emerging 2030 District and Pennsylvania Sustainable Energy Financing program (PennSEF).
Bachelor’s degree in related area (e.g., sustainability, engineering, business, urban planning, or architecture) and up to five years’ experience in a relevant field such as real estate, facilities management, communications, or financial analysis preferred.
Passion for and understanding of the built environment, including the triple bottom line impact of healthy, high-performance spaces and sustainable development.
Ability to develop familiarity with metrics, benchmarking, and other quantitative methods.
Exceptionally motivated and independent-thinking multitasker to contribute to the success of a high-functioning team.

Knowledge of Microsoft Office programs, with an advanced proficiency in Excel highly preferred; prior experience with Energy Star Portfolio Manager and GIS ideal.
LEED Green Associate or AP designation a plus.
The anticipated start date for this position is June 2018.
The 2030 Outreach Coordinator is based at GBA’s offices on the South Side of Pittsburgh.
Travel within the City of Pittsburgh and sporadic early morning and evening hours will be required; infrequent regional travel (with notice) is also anticipated.
