Graham has an immediate opening for a Project Engineer. This position will collaborate with internal and external customers on standard and custom window and fenestration solutions and function as the technical lead on project specific, design/build projects by providing proposal product details, engineering, and design development support. This position reports to the VP of Design Engineering.
Maintain an expert level of product knowledge and application
Work within pre-established, product development guidelines to supply proposal drawings using existing, and custom product platforms
Provide technical drawings to internal, and external customers in in 2D format, and as required in 3D solid format for design clarity
Coordinate technical information such as anchorage calculations and locations, sealant notes, and installation methods for project specific shop drawings; and upon request; review for accuracy and completeness
Provide engineering and technical support for architects, customers, sales and estimating in the areas of product application and interpretation of project specifications
Confer with management, production, and marketing staff to discuss project specifications and requirements
Coordinate project specific requirements between external customer and internal customers including but not limited to estimating, design engineering, project management, production engineering, quality, and manufacturing
Perform special projects and other duties as required and assigned
Requirements The preferred candidate must have the following:
Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering or related field or equivalent experience
Minimum five years of experience in related industry
Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing proficiency
Project management experience in fabrication or construction
Ability to manager travel requirements
Thorough understanding of fenestration design, fabrication and manufacturing processes
Competency in fundamental engineering principles and problem solving techniques
Proficiency in understanding architectural and shop drawings
Ability to review and determine compliance to project specifications and building codes
Thorough understanding of AAMA, ASTM, NFRC and other standards and procedures related to the fenestration industry
Strong and effective communication and organizational skills
Working knowledge of architectural and construction practices
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to maintain safe work environment in the field as well as manufacturing floor
Excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills with strong customer focus
