And start doing your life's best work.(sm) Primary Responsibilities: Predicts emerging customer data needs and develops innovative solutions to meet them Conducts gap analysis, data mapping, data testing and quality measures as needed for issues, projects or processes within the analytic area Create specifications to bring data into a common structure, creating product specifications and models, developing data solutions to support analyses, performing analysis, interpreting results, developing actionable insights and presenting recommendations for use Translates highly complex data initiatives in ways that can be understood by a variety of audiences Partners with stakeholders and senior leadership to understand data requirements and develop tools and models such as segmentation, dashboards, data visualizations, decision aids and business case analysis to support the organization on data initiatives Produce and manage the delivery of activity and value analytics to external stakeholders and clients Leads large, complex projects to drive and achieve key business and data objectives Often times the individual will represent the Analytic area as the key contact for these data projects May have segment-wide impact; and directs cross-functional and/or cross-segment teams

Required Qualifications:5+ years of healthcare data experience or knowledge 3+ years of experience with claims processing, EDI (837, NCPCP, etc...) or adjudication systems (Such as but not limited to UNET, COSMOS, Facets (CSP), Diamond, etc.) Experience in 1 programming language (i.e. SAS, SQL, etc...) and/or product tools, and/or data extraction application (DataMeer, SAS EG, etc.) 3+ years of Data Mapping, Data dictionaries and/or Data Management, Data Governance approaches and methodologies Excellent critical thinking skills, strong data analysis skills interpretation and written and verbal communication skills Self-driven, ability to work independently and facilitate change in a complex, matrix organization Possess excellent time management and prioritization skills in order to meet multiple deadlines; comfortable working in a high-paced/high production area Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid and/or Commercial health plan information Strong computer skills in: Excel, Word, Visio and PowerPointPreferred Qualifications:Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience Logical, detail oriented thought process with the ability to breakdown a complex problems into individual root causes Ability to identify payment errors regardless of claim system by just reviewing data and possessing claims coding experience Knowledge of UHC systems as well as desk top applicationsCareers with Optum.
