POST-DOCTORAL RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY, RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS, Institute for Sustainable Energy
January 27, 2018
The Institute for Sustainable Energy is engaged in a project with China's State Grid, focused on issues and opportunities in high voltage transmission related to the global transition to sustainable energy systems. The research opportunity involves the study of engineering and economic aspects of HV transmission design, development, deployment and operations for large-scale electricity production and delivery through both regulated and market-based structures. A significant interaction with China's state grid researchers is expected, focused in particular on engineering-economic model development. The successful post-doctoral candidate shall have experience in renewable energy systems and their integration into electric power grids, transmission and distribution wires, and, ideally, electricity market design and operations. Fluency in Mandarin and English is a priority. Research work and doctoral thesis in electricity related subject matter is required. Appointment is full-time for the two year duration of project funding.
