The UW Clean Energy Institute invites innovative researchers to apply for 3 full-time new postdoctoral positions at the rank of Research Associate (12 month service period) at the University of Washington in Seattle.
A clean energy economy requires the integration of energy conversions devices, smart grid, and storage technology. The Clean Energy Institute (CEI) is seeking to increase Washington's profile in these fields through an advanced program of world-class research and education.
With the support of a generous gift from the Washington Research Foundation (WRF), the CEI has launched the WRF Innovation Fellows Program in Clean Energy to help recruit the next generation of innovation leaders in solar energy conversion, energy storage, and grid integration technologies to the University of Washington.
We are recruiting exceptionally talented researchers who have recently received their PhD degree (or foreign equivalent) to join CEI laboratories at the UW campus or its affiliates. Successful candidates will have an outstanding record of scientific achievement as judged, in part, by their research publications and technology commercialization in their fields, and quality of proposed research plan in CEI focus areas (advanced materials for solar energy, advanced materials for energy storage, and grid systems and integration technology).
Prospective fellows should identify a UW faculty member (or collaborating group of UW faculty) to serve as a local nominator of the project, and are encouraged to consult the list of CEI Member Faculty for assistance, though nominations from any UW faculty member will be accepted.
WRF Innovation Fellows will receive an annual salary of $65,000 plus benefits and an additional research and travel stipend of $10,000. Anticipated start date for these full-time positions is in January 2015. Initial appointment is for one year, with expected renewal for second year given satisfactory progress.
